Three generations, one enduring mission — from Muzaffarnagar to the world.
The Arogyadham family carries a lineage of more than 110 years in healthcare, and Vaidyaratnam Dr. Rakesh Agarwal has been serving humanity for over 45 years. Late Dr. Gunwant Rai Agarwal established Arogyadham in 1914 at Muzaffarnagar, U.P., and was later joined by Vaidyaraj Late Sh. V. C. Agarwal. Since 1982, Vaidyaratnam Dr. Rakesh Agarwal has served continuously at Arogyadham along with his family.
In 1992 the Arogyadham Family Health Magazine was launched, and is today read by millions of people across India and abroad. In 1998 the Arogyadham Global AIDS Research Foundation was launched under his guidance and supervision — recognised by the Ministry of Science and Technology — providing charitable services worldwide in the field of yogic healthcare through Ayurvedic practice. In 2010, Maa Yoga Ashram, Rishikesh opened under the dynamic leadership of Yogi Dr. Amrit Raj as a centre for Ayurvedic sciences, yogic sciences and holistic treatment along with Panchakarma therapies. The Foundation's research and development covers more than 600 herbs, all farmed organically under Vaidyaratnam Dr. Rakesh Agarwal's supervision.
Dr. Agarwal holds his practice to the highest professional standards — working with integrity, believing in quality over quantity, and practising with patience and love, maintaining the traditional wholesome values so often lost in today's society. He brings extensive experience in handling a large workforce and keeping a peaceful, amicable working environment while initiating capacity-building measures; in conducting educational forums that promote Ayurvedic treatment and lifestyle change; in organising Ayurveda wellness programmes and training new students and therapists; and in developing scientific explanations, papers and research articles for Ayurvedic medicine.
